Why Timely Updates Matter

Update Frequency

New AI models and data science improvements are released daily. We are constantly monitoring the AI industry practices for potential enhancements to our optimization process. While the release of the latest new GenAI model is exciting, experience has taught us that the results obtained are not necessarily better. We are cautious about implementing the latest innovation without thorough testing.

Digital marketers practicing SEO have been trained to follow the latest major search engine algorithm updates. While SEO updates have created large disruptions in the SEO realm, search engines have no impact on our GenAI optimization process. So there is no need to update monthly, rapidly trying to keep up with the latest SEO algo changes. Instead we monitor what Open AI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Google, Microsoft, Apple and others are doing in the GenAI space, so that our optimization process dovetails with their changing expectations for AI-optimized web content.

Quarterly Updates with Ad-Hoc Adjustments

We continuously review our optimization process, and if an update is warranted, we implement updates on a quarterly basis. This roughly keeps pace with the release cycle of major commercial AI vendors. However, we also perform ad-hoc adjustments in response to:

  • Our Own Research Efforts: We are constantly looking for new ways to enhance our optimization techniques and algorithms. We implement improvements as they are developed and tested. While typically performed on a quarterly basis, we may move early if the enhancement is warranted.

  • Client Feedback and Performance Data: Insights from our clients and performance metrics guide our updates, ensuring we continue to deliver the best results possible.

Update Process

  1. Optimization Opportunities: When a new optimization technique is developed, we experiment on test datasets to make sure the results deliver a meaningful improvement.

  2. Algorithm Refinement: Based on the insights gathered, our developers refine and update the optimization processes and algorithm(s). Some of these refinements allow us to process more information in less time. Other refinements produce better/more streamlined AI-optimized content for GenAI engines to ingest. Since AI resources are expensive, both from a cost and sustainability basis, the more we can do to minimize the time and effort required by AI vendors to consume your content, the better the overall results.

  3. Testing and Validation: Updated optimizations undergo rigorous testing to ensure they meet our standards for accuracy and performance.

  4. Deployment: Once validated, the updates are deployed to our platform, ensuring all clients benefit from the latest enhancements during their next optimization run (timing of client optimization runs is based on the service plan chosen)
